9/11 Friday Questions

1. What I learned: Keep your students engaged and involved and classroom management won't be a problem. I'm just going to keep repeating this over and over, and reflecting on ways to put it into practice, which is the bigger challenge.

2. What I want to know: How do you motivate students to give you their best work? We have a couple of kids who just want to do the minimum to skate by.

3. I'm anxious about curriculum night this week. I've met some of the parents when they stopped by before school started and I talked to some at the BBQ, but I have to stand up in front of them and tell a little about myself. I know it will be fine, but I'm still a little nervous. I think I will try to prepare some nice things to say about each of their students so when I am talking with them individually I don't go blank.

4. I'm excited to see more of the kids' writing. We started writing workshop at the end of last week and there was some great work! I'm also excited to see how the kids progress through the year with their writing.
